Job Title: Senior Data Architect (Azure & Databricks)
Role Overview :
For our client active in the insurance sector, we are looking for a Senior Data Architect with strong experience in Azure and Databricks.
Core Responsibilities
1. Cloud Engineering & Architecture
* Design & Provisioning: Lead the hands-on configuration of Azure services, including environment provisioning, networking, IAM, and security protocols.
* Strategic Alignment: Partner with Enterprise Architects to ensure all data solutions are secure, efficient, and compliant with global standards.
* Performance: Drive troubleshooting and optimization efforts to ensure high availability and cost-efficiency.
2. Databricks Modernization
* ETL Migration: Spearhead the transition of legacy ETL/ELT processes into Databricks.
* Workspace Management: Configure clusters, notebooks, and Unity Catalog while establishing robust CI/CD pipelines.
* Optimization: Perform deep performance tuning and workflow automation to streamline data processing.
3. Transition Strategy & Product Leadership
* Hybrid Solutions: Design pragmatic, step-by-step migration paths between legacy systems and the new Azure/Databricks environment.
* Product Ownership: Act as the PO for the Data Platform; define the roadmap, manage the backlog, and ensure value delivery aligns with business priorities.
* Backlog Refinement: Translate complex business needs into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
4. Governance & Mentorship
* Best Practices: Define end-to-end data standards, lineage, and documentation frameworks.
* Team Growth: Mentor engineers and provide expert guidance on Azure/Databricks best practices.
Technical Profile Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
* Experience: 7+ years in IT/Data Architecture and Cloud Technologies.
* Azure Mastery: Proven experience with Key Vault, IAM, networking, and security (Certification required).
* Databricks Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, PySpark, and cluster management (Certification required).
* Modernization: Direct experience migrating legacy ETL jobs to a Lakehouse architecture.
* DevOps: Solid understanding of Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills:
* Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep).
* Containerization (Docker or Kubernetes).
* Data Governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra).
Soft Skills & Professional Profile
* Communication: Fluent in English and either French or Dutch (bilingual French/Dutch is a significant asset).
* Leadership: An autonomous problem-solver who takes ownership of the architectural lifecycle.
* Analytical Mindset: Ability to anticipate technical risks and propose pragmatic mitigation strategies.
* Collaboration: Comfortable in a hybrid work model, participating actively in sprint cycles and stakeholder reviews.
