This is a unique opportunity to leverage AI and machine learning to transform how infrastructure project documentation is processed, categorized, and turned into actionable insights. You'll be at the heart of digital transformation, streamlining business processes and shaping the future of operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact how vital project data is captured, structured, and delivered, enabling smarter maintenance, faster decision-making, and a more sustainable environment. What You'll Be Doing Audit and analyze existing business processes to identify high-impact digital and AI-assisted use cases. Design and implement a proof of concept (POC) for automated document and image processing, extracting key parameters to enrich the machine database. Develop solutions for automatic ingestion and categorization of project delivery documents, transforming them into structured, usable information streams. Rework technical manuals into reusable, digital maintenance instructions accessible in the field (mobile, geo-based, tag-based, etc.). Enable in-the-field retrieval of the right maintenance instructions, optimizing for usability and accessibility. Integrate feedback loops post-maintenance, including checklists and comments — exploring the potential of voice assistants to streamline reporting. Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure solutions deliver measurable value and are aligned with operational needs. What We're Looking For Proven expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with hands-on experience in document and image processing. Strong background in Business Process Management and Business Process Re-engineering. Builder mindset: you take ownership, drive outcomes, and thrive on solving complex, real-world problems. Experience designing and delivering POCs that demonstrate tangible business value. Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, technical solutions. Comfortable working in hybrid environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Full professional proficiency in Dutch is required; English is a plus. Availability to start as soon as possible and commit full-time for 4 months (with potential extension). Technical Skills Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Expert Machine Learning – Expert Document and Image Processing (OCR, NLP, Computer Vision) Business Process Management – Intermediate Business Process Re-engineering – Intermediate Experience with mobile and geo-based solutions is a plus Familiarity with voice assistant integration is an advantage Language Proficiency Dutch: Full professional proficiency (mandatory) English: Nice to have Other Requirements This is a freelance position with a fixed project duration: as soon as possible until 28/02/2026 (initial 4 months, full-time).
