Hauptaufgaben
As a Training Instructor (Motor Vehicle), you will perform the following duties:
- Conduct initial driving orientation, remedial/refresher orientation and winter driving classes for all local national/ US employees.
-Prepare course outlines, lesson plans, and testing materials in compliance with laws, regulations and directives.
-Provide orientation to the US community on Belgian traffic laws, US regulations, safety requirements, international road signs, accident prevention and reporting procedures.
- Administer written examinations on signs and laws and conduct applicable road tests with examinees.
- Receive requests for transportation from different units, dispatch vehicles, verify driver's licenses and check the vehicles/required documentation upon return of vehicles.
-Perform a variety of administrative tasks (such as collect documentation, prepare reports, maintain records, take phone call, schedule exam appointment/registration, check instructor's availabilities, …)
Qualifikationsanforderungen
• PROFILE
At grade BA-05:
Applicants must possess a High Secondary School degree OR demonstrate at least one year of creditable experience that is at least equivalent to the next lower grade level (BA 04).
Creditable experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
At grade BA-07:
Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of experience in the same or a similar line of work as the job for which considered.
The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty one level below the position to be filled (BA 05). The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position, as described in the KSA's section below.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION
A certificate "Brevet III" delivered by the "Service Public de Wallonie Mobilité" as driving instructor is qualifying at BA 07.
Foreign education must be officially evaluated for Belgian equivalency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs)
At BA-5 level:
- Ability to collect and manage data in order to prepare reports.
- Ability to perform a variety of clerical support duties (take phone call, schedule appointment,…)
- Skill in oral and written communication in English and in French
In addition to these KSA's (BA-05), qualifying for the BA-07 level:
- Ability to provide driving classes.
- Good knowledge of European traffic laws, regulations and safety requirements to orientate and evaluate drivers.
- Ability to evaluate candidates' capability to drive vehicle in Belgium.
- Ability to prepare, plan and give structured lessons.

ORGANIZATION AND PLACE OF DUTY
US Army in Belgium is an American government agency whose mission is to provide logistical and administrative support to the US personnel at NATO and SHAPE in Belgium.
DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
- Permanent, full-time (38 hours/week)
- Regular work schedule (Monday to Friday)
- TDY: 10%
- Salary:
*From 3,346.77EUR gross/month at the BA-5
*From 4,019.83 EUR gross/month at the BA-7
This is a developmental position/entry trainee level position leading to the full performance level (BA-07). At management's request, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next grade level, provided that he/she has completed the required training and meets all regulatory and qualification requirements.
