About the Opportunity
On behalf of our client, a highly innovative Deep Tech startup, we are recruiting an Experienced Numerical Software Specialist to focus on Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP).
Our client is developing the first high-fidelity, scale-resolved simulation software for industrial and environmental applications. This technology represents a total paradigm shift, delivering unprecedented levels of accuracy and productivity on GPU and future Quantum Computers.
As a key member of the R&D team, you will be at the forefront of science and technology, applying your expertise to solve some of the most complex challenges in weather and climate forecasting.
Your Mission: Architecting the Future of Weather & Climate Simulation
Your primary mission will be to extend the core numerical solver technology to weather and climate applications. You will be the technical authority for the NWP domain, working on algorithms that will redefine forecasting accuracy.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Solver Extension: Adapt and extend the new solver's numerics and algorithms for Weather and Climate applications, following the company's ambitious roadmap.
* High-Performance GPU Programming: Program high-performance code directly in C, C++, and Cuda to leverage the full power of native GPU architectures.
* Algorithmic Research: Develop creative and innovative solutions based on advanced numerical methods, such as Finite Volume and Discontinuous Galerkin methods.
* Validation & Publication: Conduct rigorous testing and validation on well-documented experiments, participate in leading scientific conferences in the NWP field, and publish your findings in scientific papers.
