We currently have a vacancy for an Expert in AI/NLP/ML fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.
Your tasks
o Development and maintenance of software applications in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI);
o Training of custom machine learning / deep learning models based on structured and unstructured data;
o Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques;
o Studies and developments aiming at improving the quality of machine translation (MT) engines for each installed language pair, addressing the specific needs of customers of the service concerning MT quality and contributing to a general strategy for the systematic evaluation and long-term improvement of MT quality;
o Interact with data stewards and other IT stakeholders to define the data rules;
o Define data controls and implement actions to ensure data quality and integrity;
o Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance;
o Design the IT architecture for solitons in the NLP / ML / AI fields, and coordinate its implementation considering master- and meta-data management concepts;
o Contributing to the design of the IT architecture considering master- and meta-data management concepts.
Requirements
o University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in IT;
o At least 3 years of specific expertise with robust back-end application development with Python;
o At least 2 years of specific expertise with ETL workflows for batch and streaming processing, document ingestion and parsing of multiple formats, such as PDF, Docx and HTML;
o At least 3 years of specific expertise with SQL RDBMS or equivalent (e.g, PostgreSQL, MySQL);
o At least 3 years of specific expertise with RESTful API design principles, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation, async endpoint development, streaming endpoints, production grade logging/monitoring ;
o At least 1 years of specific expertise with Azure Functions, Azure AI Search, Azure Blob storage;
o At least 1 years of specific expertise with vector databases and semantic search technologies, such as embedding models, hybrid search algorithms, indexing and reranking techniques;
o Experience in the field of corpus based linguistics and alignment models and classification methods;
o Experience with data analytics over big datasets, non-structured databases as well as data lakes;
o Excellent knowledge of Perl, Python, Matlab, R and its NLP/ML libraries (SpaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn, pandas…);
o Excellent knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Neural Network, and/or artificial intelligence frameworks.;
o Excellent knowledge of Data Management ;
o Good knowledge of AWS and/or Azure;
o Good knowledge of Linux;
o Good knowledge of Unix and Bash;
o Good knowledge of natural language processing systems lifecycle and agile software development methodologies;
o Good knowledge of quality assurance and quality control for machine translation (MT) and experience with MT quality procedures, testing methodologies and tools, such as automatic quality metrics (BLEU scores and similar) and human evaluation of MT quality;
o Knowledge of query languages, such as SQL, Hive, Pig, etc and with information extraction;
o Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, etc.
o Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, etc ;
o Expertise in back-end development with Java or PHP would be an asset;
o Excellent command of the English language .
