Implement clinical and educational strategies and respond to unsolicited medical enquiries.About The RoleMajor accountabilities:Strategic and Business MindsetLeverages and integrates insights from patients, Health Care Professionals (HCPs), Health Care System (HCS) and policy makers to shape disease area and patient strategiesCo-creates with other functions and develops strategies to maximize clinical potential of compounds at early stage (pre-launch) or post-launch (in-mkt evidence gap)Collaborating with Novartis colleagues to actively support meetings by collecting and interpreting insights, competitive intelligence, presentations as well as results.Stakeholder Management & CollaborationDeveloping and maintaining long-term professional relationships with investigators, medical specialists and healthcare professionals.Utilizing superior therapy area and product knowledge to engage with HCPs through non-promotional evidence based scientific dialogue and presentations on scientific research concepts and ideas with investigatorsIdentify and map external stakeholders beyond Healthcare Professionals, aligned to the medical strategy, and in collaboration with other colleagues.HCS Thinking & Launch preparationLeverages and integrates insights from HCPs, HCS and policy makers to shape disease area and patient strategiesAbility to understand unmet medical needs, disease and competitive landscape, treatment practice, patient journey, stakeholder perceptions and how to translate these into strategic advantages while addressing the needs of Health Care SystemsAgile and Innovative leadershipIs versatile and comfortable navigating ambiguity and uncertainty, adapts easily to unexpected changes and adjusts work accordingly by applying learnings and experienceAdvocates innovations and promotes uptake to stay on the cutting edge of best practiceAct as a strategic scientific partner, and collaborate with other Field matrix colleagues (e.g. Value/Market Access, HEOR, clinical research colleagues)Key Performance IndicatorsWorks within Ethics and Compliance policies -Achievement of annual targets for medical activities.Minimum RequirementsMedical Scientific background (Master, Phd ..)Work ExperiencePrevious Medical Science Liaison experience or Field Medical ExpertiseOperations Management and ExecutionCross-functional collaboration.SkillsDemonstrates a customer-focused mindset and passion for the scientific environmentExperience in effective collaboration to co-create valueApplication of active listening skills to gain insights.Strong influential engagement skillsActs with credibility and trust based on a solid scientific background.Experience in field-medical function in more than one therapeutic area is a plus.Proven ability to work cross-functionally and reach consensus and decisionStrong agile and quick, self-directed learning (incl digital)Working knowledge of the health care systemLives our Novartis culture, values and behaviorsLanguagesFluent in French, Dutch & EnglishWhy Novartis: Helping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
