Business-Focused Financial Oversight
* Ensure timely and accurate month-end closings across all retail operations and entities, including inventory reconciliation, sales reporting, and margin analysis.
* Partner with store managers and regional directors to provide insights into performance and profitability.
Financial Reporting
* Contribute to the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, focusing on revenue, costs, and operational KPIs.
* Provide accurate financial analysis to support management decisions, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Balance Sheet & P&L Control
* Review and challenge P&L and balance sheet accounts to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with internal policies and standards.
* Conduct regular reconciliation of key accounts, including stock, supplier payables, and customer receivables.
Retail Process Optimization
* Identify inefficiencies in current processes and implement improvements to optimize the financial closing calendar, reporting accuracy, and data flow from POS systems.
Internal Controls & Documentation
* Help design and document standardized financial procedures across stores and support functions.
* Ensure compliance with local GAAP and internal audit recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Act as a link between finance, operations, supply chain, and IT teams to enhance end-to-end visibility and performance.
* Participate in cross-departmental projects such as ERP upgrades or new store openings.
People Management
* Manage and coach a junior financial analyst (or accountant).
* Influence non-direct reports (e.g. store accountants, supply chain finance) and foster a strong financial culture across the business.
* Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. A professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, etc.) is an asset.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years in finance, audit, or controlling, ideally within a retail or consumer goods company.
* Languages: Fluent in English; good command of French and/or Dutch is preferred.
* Tools: Solid knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, lookups), experience with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or other), and data tools like Power BI.
