Responsibilities
Prepares quantitative and qualitative research and analysis
Field studies
Usability studies
Synthesis of UX research, web analytics data, as well as surveys, legacy and organizational goals
Problem solving attitude
Coach, mentor and transfer UX knowledge across the organisation
Communicate the organisation’s strategic vision and goals from an end-user’s point of view
Works closely with business and cross functional teams to reach desired organizational goals
Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users. Regular liaison between user services and development teams to ensure requirements are properly implemented

Knowledge and Skills
Experience as a UX consultant, UX researcher, Digital communicator or equivalent
Experience with responsive design for web-application
A portfolio that shows the ability to work across various industries
Experience with Design tools such as Figma, Invision
Knowledge of high-fidelity prototyping, wireframing, interaction flows and information architecture
Experience with usability audits and usability testing
Experience with accessibility tools such as NVDA, WAVE is an asset
Experience with WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2
Experience with web technologies and standards (e.g., HTML, XML, CSS, SEO, web analytics)
Knowledge of Drupal (10x, 11x) and PHP is an asset
Knowledge of Europa Component Library (ECL) is an asset
Knowledge of GIT
Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Knowledge of Jenkins CI/CD tool
Knowledge of agile development principles
Ability to apply high quality standards and work towards deadlines
Analysis and problem‑solving skills
Very good communication skills, both verbal (e.g.: presentations, seminars, etc.) and written (e.g.: reports, articles, etc.)
Develop trusted relationships with business managers to help them integrate user experience capabilities as a strategic asset
Capability to write clear and structured documents
Knowledge of the Commission’s Erasmus+ programme is an asset
Knowledge of the Commission’s European Solidarity Corps programme and its programme guide is an asset
Knowledge of the following tools: MS Teams, Signal
Specific Expertise
At least 5 years of specific expertise with Figma (min. competence level 4)
At least 5 years of specific expertise with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (min. competence level 4)
At least 8 years of specific expertise with Accessibility standards
At least 10 years of specific expertise with User-centered design

User-Centered Design (UCD) principles
UX Research methodologies (User interviews, Persona, Journey mapping, Usability tests)
Participatory Design practices (Design Sprints, UX Workshops)
Usability and Accessibility Standards (WCAG 2.1, WCAG 2.2)
