Our client, an important provider of maritime and port services, is looking for a strategic and results-driven Country Operations Manager. Responsible for leading and optimizing port agency operations within the assigned country. This role ensures operational excellence, service quality, and full compliance with corporate standards while aligning local activities with global strategies.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Excellence: Oversee all vessel calls and port operations, ensuring they meet company quality standards and KPIs.
* Team Leadership: Manage and motivate multi-site operations teams, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and accountability.
* Strategic Alignment: Implement global workflows, digital tools (TMS/ERP), and transformation initiatives across all local branches.
* Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary escalation point for clients and port authorities; collaborate with commercial teams to identify business opportunities.
* Performance & Risk: Monitor operational margins, conduct office audits, and develop action plans to mitigate risks or service disruptions.
Requirements
* Experience: 8–10 years in maritime operations or shipping services, with proven managerial experience.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or Business Administration (preferred).
* Knowledge: Deep understanding of vessel handling, customs regulations, port agency services, and financial cost control.
* Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.
* Skills: Proficiency in Office 365, ERP/BI tools, and strong leadership in high-pressure environments.
