About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Security Project Manager (Freelance) to join our client's mission‐critical team in Brussels for a 12‐month, full‐time engagement. This is a unique opportunity to lead high‐impact security projects at the heart of national operations, where your expertise will directly shape the security landscape and safeguard vital assets.

What You'll Be Doing
Lead and deliver end‐to‐end security projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with public sector requirements.
Drive project execution on‐site, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve impactful outcomes.
Apply Agile methodologies and best practices (including PMBOK, PRINCE2, and SCRUM) to manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables.
Coach and mentor teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Implement and oversee security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and ZeroTrust.
Utilize and integrate technologies including EDR, SIEM, PKI, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Android (as relevant to project needs).
Ensure all project activities are executed on‐site, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and security.
Communicate effectively in Dutch or French, with strong proficiency in English and a good command of the other national language.
What We're Looking For
Proven track record: Minimum 10 years of confirmed experience in IT project management, with recent hands‐on leadership in security‐focused environments.
Expertise in Agile, coaching, and team leadership, with a builder's mindset and a drive for impact.
Confirmed experience with security standards and frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST, ZeroTrust, PMBOK, PRINCE2, SCRUM.
Technical fluency with EDR, SIEM, PKI, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Android (nice to have).
Belgian nationality is mandatory due to security clearance requirements.
Possession of a "top secret" security clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
All work must be performed on‐site in Brussels; remote work is not permitted.
Native proficiency in Dutch or French, with a good command of the other national language and active knowledge of English.
