DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS
The developer will perform the following tasks:
* Development of back-end website applications.
* Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developer with server side logic.
* Implementation of core business logic.
* Creation of servers and databases for functionality, and design and implementation of data storage solutions.
* Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
* Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability.
* Design and develop APIs.
* Participate in the design and creation of scalable software, and take the lead on projects, as needed.
* Maintenance of code integrity and organisation, and writing clean, functional code on the back-end.
* Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
* Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues, and meeting both technical and consumer needs.
* Writing technical documentation.
* The developer could also work on any other project of DG SANTE.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Technical and Functional Skills (Related to the specified expertise areas):
* Knowledge of specific back-end technologies: Vert.x, Kotlin, Java (> 17), Spring Boot (WebFlux), and Hibernate.
* Knowledge of Microservices Architecture, API-driven Development, and AS4.
* Experience with Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Virtuoso Triple Store, and OpenSearch.
* Experience with Containerization & Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience with Security standards: OpenID Connect, OAuth2, TLS, and Keycloak.
* Experience with Security Testing & Dependency Management: SAST, DAST, Fortify, SonarQube, Sonatype, Dependency-Track, and Maven.
* Familiarity with Collaboration & Productivity Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Office 365, and SharePoint.
Non-Technical/Soft Skills (Required for the European Commission environment):
