WHO MAY APPLY?

Hauptaufgaben

You will:

- Be responsible for direct, on-site customer service support, assignment & termination inspections, housing allowances determination and Housing program administration.

- Explain applicable Housing and relocation regulations, and housing assignment and installation policies.

- Determine eligibility for Housing and add applicants to the waiting list by determining their eligibility date.

- Assign new residents to housing and complete associated documents.

- Schedule and perform inspections.

- Collaborate with prospective property owner landlords and rental agencies to promote US housing requirements.

- Provide translation assistance with landlords and with utility compagnies.


Qualifikationsanforderungen

PROFILE

At the BA-05:

Applicants must possess a High Secondary School degree OR demonstrate at least one year of creditable experience that is at least equivalent to the next lower grade level (BA 04). Creditable experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

At the BA-06:

Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of experience in the same or a similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position, as described in the KSA's section. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (BA-05).

Substitution of Education:

A Bachelor degree (or equivalent) successfully completed in a related field (e.g. Bachelier en lmmobilier ... ) is qualifying at the BA-06 level.

At the BA-07:

Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of experience in the same or a similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the
applicant possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position, as described in the KSA's section. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (BA-06).

Substitution of Education:

A Bachelor degree (or equivalent) successfully completed in a related field (e.g. Bachelier en lmmobilier ... ) is qualifying at the BA-07 level.

Foreign education must be evaluated for Belgian equivalency. More information can be found at: www.enseignement.be.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

At the BA-06:

-Knowledge of English and French to interpret negotiations and routine conversations between landlords and tenants.

-Ability to take care of and resolve various problems connected with rent payments, damages and/or maintenance, which may arise during tenancy.

-Ability to advise customers on routine procedures to be followed to obtain housing facilities, handling all necessary forms and/or verbal instructions for the applicants and explaining regulatory requirements.

In addition to these KSA's (BA-06), qualifying for the BA-07 level:

-Knowledge of rental and real estate laws, theories, principles in Belgium.

-Skill in conducting inspections to identify repair/construction deficiencies; determining impact of repairs, improvements or other corrective measures, and co-ordinates the scheduling with other landlords, tenants, and technicians to accomplish the repairs to the satisfaction of all concerned.

-Detailed knowledge of acceptable work standards associated with the repair, maintenance, or improvement of facilities, equipment, and other housing assets.

Travel for business may be required up to 10%

ORGANIZATION AND PLACE OF DUTY:

US Army in Belgium is an American government agency whose mission is to provide logistical and administrative support to the US personnel at NATO and SHAPE in Belgium.

DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER:

•Permanent, full-time (38 hours/week)
•Regular work schedule (Monday through Friday)
•Salary:
•From € 3,346.77 gross/month at BA-05 – This is a trainee position. Upon meeting all qualification requirements to perform the duties at the next performance level, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted per management's recommendation.
•From € 3,668.06 gross/month at BA-06 - This is a trainee position. Upon meeting all qualification requirements to perform the duties at the next performance level, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted per management's recommendation.
•From € 4,019.83 gross/month at BA-07

REFERRAL AND SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The Civilian Human Resources Service Center (CHRSC) will review each application and will refer candidates to the management official who will make the final selection. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for position without regard to political, religious, or labor organization affiliation or non-affiliation, marital status, race, color, sex, national origin, nondisqualifying physical disability, or age.

The SELECTEE will:

•Provide an extract of criminal record: "Modele 1". This document may be requested to the local resident registration office.
•Be subject to a Foreign National Screening administrated by the SHAPE Belgian Police.
•Pass an English test and a medical evaluation.
