Project Manager (Construction Logistics) required on a permanent basis to work for an international market leading specialists headquartered in Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are looking to progress their career or looking to get on board with a leading construction company.
The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the logistics project delivery and management of the supply chain, development and optimisation of site logistics solutions to meet the needs of the project. The Project Manager will be required to manage the project delivery site the site facilities to world class standards.
Project Manager Responsibilities:
* Develop the full project logistics strategy, including delivery management, site access, traffic flows, waste movements, and laydown areas.
* Act as the primary logistics liaison between the client, main contractor, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers.
* Ensure all logistics operations align with client and site-specific HSE standards
* Conduct logistics risk assessments and integrate mitigation measures into the plan.
* Coordinate logistics planning with design teams, general contractors, commissioning managers, and specialist vendors and other Specialist Package contractors (SPC’s)
* Produce and update the Logistics Execution Plan (LEP) in line with project schedule changes.
* Resource management – manage the labour resource pool and ensure they are working productively, in a planned and logical & efficient manner.
* Procure and manager specialist supplies, materials, plant and equipment necessary to deliver the project Support the commercial functions to ensure budgets are achieved and the project is a commercial success.
* Oversee setup, maintenance, and optimisation of welfare, security, storage, and temporary works.
* Manage delivery scheduling, booking systems, logistic gates, and material tracking processes.
* Monitor progress against the master schedule and ensure logistics readiness for key installation phases.
* Ensure all deliveries meet security, documentation, and handling requirements.
* Manage waste removal systems, recycling, and environmental controls.
* Ensure roadways, hoarding, access routes, and emergency walkways, barriers, car parks are maintained to high standards.
* Coordinate cranage, forklift operations, hoists, MEWP usage, and other material handling equipment.
* Lead coordination meetings for logistics and site services.
* Support commissioning teams with material availability, safe access, and logistics sequencing.
* Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with client logistics requirements.
* Conduct regular audits of logistics areas, vehicle movements, lifting operations, and waste systems.
* Support incident investigations and contribute to safety improvement plans.
* Maintain quality control over storage of sensitive equipment (HV/MV electrical equipment, IT racks, prefabricated units, etc.).
* Maintain detailed cost, delivery, and operational logs.
* Prepare weekly and monthly logistics progress reports for the client’s leadership team.
* Manage logistics documentation including delivery schedules, traffic plans, method statements, and permits.
* Utilise digital tools for material tracking, delivery coordination, and reporting (e.g., Procore, Aconex, BIM 360, or similar).
Necessary Requirements:
* 3rd level qualification in an engineering or construction related field is desirable
* Ideally you will possess experience in a similar role, or experience in working in large scale construction projects, with a hands on and detail approach been important.
* Strong, proven leadership skills and experience of managing substantial, interdisciplinary teams
* Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities, construction technologies and jobsite management
* Experience with managing and influencing large teams, including craft in the field
* In depth practical knowledge and experience with scope definition, resource loaded schedules, progress and performance curves, earned value and metrics.
* Proven track record of delivering construction projects
* IT Skills – the necessary IT skills to manage the information flow on the project.
