Field Service Engineer
to clients with installation, maintenance and technical troubleshooting of optical instruments.
Job Description
Installation & Maintenance
* Install optical instruments and ensure correct configuration at the customer site.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance interventions.
* Diagnose technical issues and carry out repairs within after‑sales service operations.
Customer Training & Support
* Train customers (opticians, ophthalmologists) on equipment use, daily maintenance, and best practices.
* Provide guidance on instrument performance and care to optimise uptime.
Technical Troubleshooting
* Analyse malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
* Ensure responsiveness and high service standards across all interventions.
Commercial & Relationship Management
* Promote products and services during customer interactions to reinforce customer loyalty.
* Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and support business development.
Coordination & Administration
* Organise and plan service interventions independently.
* Carry out administrative follow‑up related to interventions and reporting.
* Manage logistics tasks such as stock monitoring of spare parts and materials.
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications
* A technical diploma (CESS/A2) or equivalent.
* Valid driving licence (company vehicle provided - van).
Experience
* Experience in field service, technical support, or after‑sales service.
* Strong IT skills and understanding of network connectivity.
* Experience in optical or biomedical equipment is a plus.
Languages
* Fluency in French & Dutch is required.
* Good command of English is an asset.
Personal Skills
* Strong sense of service, customer‑oriented mindset.
* Autonomous, organised, and capable of managing field work independently.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with customers.
* Ability to access regions such as Ternat, Asse, Dilbeek, Meise is an advantage.
