Design Leader
Your mission :
As leader of a design team, you'll be in charge of the management of all design activities within a multidisciplinary project team, from conceptual design up to modifications in service.
You’ll be responsible for the design deliverables issuance and their check (eg. digital mockup, design principles, GD&T analysis, bills of material, weight reports, design justification analysis, interface drawings, design data sets).
As team leader, you’ll manage all activities delegated to designers (work preparation, technical advices / coaching, check of the deliverables, feedback) and you’ll represent Sonaca for all design topics towards the OEM, the suppliers and/or the partners involved on the project
You’ll also be accountable of the key performance indicators of your design team (on time delivery, first time right, on budget).
Your Profile :
· Master’s degree in mechanical / Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
· Minimum 8 years of experience in design of aircraft structures, covering conceptual/preliminary/detailed design phases as well as modifications in service.
· Technical Skills:
P Deep knowledge in manufacturing technologies and materials (metallic and composite ) used in aerospace industry.
P Deep knowledge in CAD and PLM softwares used in aerospace industry.
P Deep knowledge in Mechanical Design & Integration rules and CAD methodologies of minimum one commercial aircraft and/or business jet manufacturer (Airbus, Embraer, Dassault, Gulfstream, …)
P Good understanding of loads and stresses in aircraft structures. Ability to manage preliminary design and its sizing.
P Autonomous in parts tolerancing and GD&T analysis.

P Ready to travel for one day meetings and/or missions up to several weeks for project preparation / preliminary design activities at OEM design office

· Tools:
P CAD: Catia V5 (Generative Shape Design, Part & Assembly design, FTA, EHI, Sheet metal Aerospace) - Minimum 5000 Hrs experience is required
P PLM: Teamcenter
P Knowledge in one or more of softwares here after is an asset: NX, 3DCS, Windchill, SAMCEF, NASTRAN
P Microsoft office
· Language: good level in English is mandatory (spoken & written). Speak of other European languages, and Portuguese especially, is an asset.
