For our customer in Zwijnaarde, Fujitsu is looking for a Cloud Engineer Job Title: Cloud Engineer Location: Zwijnaarde Hybrid work policy: 2 days/week onsite Start Date: ASAP Industry: Biotech / Life Sciences About the Role For the expansion of our Business Information Systems (BIS) team, our customer is looking for a BIS Infrastructure Cloud Engineer within the BIS Infrastructure Engineering team. We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Cloud Engineer (Junior to Medior level). In this role, the Cloud Engineer will help design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and automation solutions that support multiple IT teams across the BIS department. The Cloud Engineer will work in a fast-paced, agile environment, focusing on Azure and Terraform, while also contributing to FinOps, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline development. This role will enable scalable, compliant, and cost-effective infrastructure that meets the needs of a dynamic, regulated industry. Role and responsibilities Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure primarily in Azure (and ideally AWS). Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Git-based workflows. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tools. Collaborate with internal IT teams to support infrastructure needs across different business units. Contribute to FinOps practices for cost optimization and visibility across cloud environments. Support containerized workloads using Kubernetes and related services. Ensure proper documentation of infrastructure and processes. Work within industry and company best practices for governance, security, and compliance (GxP experience is a plus). Adapt quickly to changing priorities and project needs in a dynamic environment. Continuously learn and apply new tools, technologies, and practices. Skills & competences Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, and ideally AWS. Strong knowledge of Terraform, Git, and Infrastructure as Code. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps. (GitHub is a plus) Solid understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models. Experience or interest in Kubernetes. Able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Curious, proactive, and eager to work with industry best practices. Basic understanding of cloud security principles and compliance requirements. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot cloud-based issues. Education, experience and qualifications 1–4 years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or DevOps role. Relevant training and/or certifications as a Cloud Engineer Experience in the pharmaceutical or regulated industry Demonstrated experience with deploying services and platforms in AWS cloud, Microsoft Azure, AI, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, … Demonstrated experience in transitioning from project mode to operations and support Experience deploying production applications into cloud environments.
