About the Role
You will be responsible for designing and evolving the architecture that powers Sightera's AI-driven drug discovery platform. You will work closely with Sightera’s founding leadership team and with AI scientists, computational biologists, software engineers, to build scalable systems that support both internal drug discovery programs and future strategic partnerships.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building from the ground up and wants to have a direct impact on the future of AI in biotechnology.
Resposibilities
* own the technical architecture of Sightera's AI drug discovery platform
* design scalable data, AI, and software infrastructure from inception to deployment
* contribute to the integration of drug-response data, compound descriptors, molecular features, and clinical metadata
* collaborate with AI researchers, computational biologists, and business stakeholders to translate scientific and business requirements into technical solutions
* evaluate and implement new technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches
* establish best practices for platform scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability
* produce clear technical documentation and architectural guidelines
* act as a technical advisor to leadership on platform strategy and roadmap decisions
* possibility to attending international conferences and presenting Sightera’s technology

Qualifications
* master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or a related field
* 3+ years' of relevant experience
* strong programming skills, preferably in Python, or related programming languages
* experience with data engineering, databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, or scalable software systems
* strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
* ability to demonstrate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Nice to have
* experience in biotech, life sciences, healthcare, or drug discovery
* contribute to automated analysis pipelines for high-throughput biological screening and image-derived readouts
* knowledge of cheminformatics, bioinformatics, image analysis, omics data, or drug discovery is a plus, but not required
* experience with molecular descriptors, compound databases, RDKit, or cheminformatics workflows
