Our Client
Our client is the Belgian branch of an international product organization with a strong footprint in manufacturing and distribution. With a clear growth trajectory in Belgium, the company is entering a phase of digital and infrastructural transformation. To support this growth, they are looking for an IT Manager who will take ownership of local IT initiatives and guide the organization through the upcoming technological changes, including the local rollout of a global ERP system.
The Role
This is an ideal next step for a candidate coming from an IT consultancy background, looking to move into a more strategic in-house position with future leadership potential. Initially, you will manage one local system engineer, while also acting as the local project manager for key IT initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the international corporate IT organization for resources and expertise. While the role starts with a strong strategic and project-based focus, it is expected to evolve into a broader managerial role as the organization and IT needs grow.
This position reports directly to the local General Manager and functionally coordinates with global IT leadership.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Act as the local IT lead, defining and shaping the IT roadmap for the Belgian organization;
* Manage and support the local IT landscape in collaboration with the corporate IT team;
* Lead and execute local IT projects, with a focus on infrastructure and digitalization;
* Serve as the project manager for the local implementation of the global ERP system;
* Develop a scalable local IT structure that can support the organization’s growth;
* Provide hands-on support for local users when necessary (e.g. resolving hardware issues);
* Ensure alignment of local IT strategy with global standards and processes;
* Build a foundation for an expanding IT team, with potential to grow into a larger managerial role.
Your Profile
* University degree in IT or Computer Science;
* 3–6 years of recent experience in IT consultancy, ideally with a focus on infrastructure and digitalization projects;
* Proven experience as a project manager for IT transformation initiatives;
* In-depth knowledge of IT architecture and infrastructure;
* A strategic mindset with the hands-on mentality required in a growing organization;
* Ambition to grow into a broader line management role within a product-driven company;
* Fluent in Dutch and English;.
* A team player who is also comfortable working independently in a flat and fast-moving organization.
