The Role
team.blue is building a centralized payments team to unlock growth, efficiency, and consistency across our diverse portfolio of brands throughout Europe. As payments play an increasingly strategic role in our businesstouching everything from subscription revenue and online checkout to POS and in-app purchaseswe need an experienced commercial and operational leader to take the helm.
Were looking for a Director Payment Solutions to lead this function end-to-end. This is a senior leadership role for someone with a proven track record in e-commerce payments, commercial strategy, and partner management. Youll be responsible for shaping our payments roadmap, managing external payment providers and internal stakeholders, and developing the commercial and operational structure of the team. Youll also play a key role in scaling our capabilities and unlocking new value across the groupwhether by optimizing conversion rates, improving cost efficiency, or enabling new business models.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the overall strategy, execution, and growth of the centralized payments function across team.blues portfolio.
2. Own and manage high-value relationships with external partners, including PSPs, acquirers, and payment infrastructure providers.
3. Collaborate closely with internal leaders across product, engineering, finance, legal, and the local brand GMs to align on priorities and drive execution.
4. Guide the product roadmap alongside the senior product lead, with a strong commercial lens.
5. Build and develop a high-performing team across product, design, operations, and commercial functions.
6. Drive commercial negotiations, contract structures, and performance management with key partners.
7. Develop clear business cases for new initiatives and lead execution on cross-brand payment projects.
8. Represent the payments function at group-level leadership meetings and contribute to company-wide strategy.
9. Establish scalable processes and metrics to measure impact across multiple markets and brands.
10. Navigate regulatory considerations in partnership with legal and compliance teams.
11. Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in the payments ecosystem, particularly those relevant to e-commerce and subscription models.
Your Profile:
Required
12. 8+ years of experience in senior roles within the payments, fintech, or e-commerce space, with a strong focus on commercial strategy.
13. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale, multi-market payment operations.
14. Deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem, particularly in the context of e-commerce, including PSPs, acquirers, card networks, alternative payment methods, and fraud prevention.
15. Strong experience managing strategic partnerships and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and ongoing performance management.
16. Proven ability to influence and align executive stakeholders in complex organizational environments.
17. Comfortable working across cultures and countries, with excellent communication skills in English.
18. Data-informed and ROI-driven mindset, able to translate strategy into measurable business outcomes.
Nice to Have
19. Experience working in a group or portfolio company structure.
20. Prior success in scaling a payments function from early stage to maturity.
21. Familiarity with the EU regulatory landscape and compliance frameworks (e.g. PSD2, PCI-DSS, SCA).
22. Background in SaaS, marketplaces, or subscription-based business models.
23. Fluency in one or more additional European languages.
