We're building Top of Mind - a personal relationship app where you capture notes and the AI handles everything else. Extraction, organization, reminders. Frictionless.
80% of our backend is an agent. Not endpoints with a sprinkle of AI - an actual agent that reasons, decides, and acts. Traditional API routes handle auth and storage. Everything else - parsing your notes, figuring out who you mentioned, scheduling reminders - that's the agent.
We're looking for an engineer who ships with AI, not just builds AI features.
You
- You haven't manually typed more than 10 lines of code in a single session in months. You're not proud of it. You're not ashamed either.
- You talk to your editor more than you type in it.
- Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot - you've tried them all and have opinions.
- You know when to let the AI drive and when to take the wheel.
- You've built or worked with agent systems - tool use, structured outputs, evaluation loops. Not just prompt-and-pray.
- React Native isn't new to you. Expo even less so.
- You don't wait for specs. You figure out what needs to happen and make it happen.
- You push back when something doesn't make sense. Disagree, then commit - or convince us we're wrong.
- You've shipped things on your own before. Not as a cog, as the person responsible.

- Build and ship features for Top of Mind (React Native/Expo)
- Design and evolve the agent - new tools, better reasoning, tighter evaluation
- Own problems end-to-end - from \"this is broken\" to \"it's live\"
- Work directly with founders and users. No layers.
- Make decisions. We'd rather undo a wrong call than wait for the right meeting.
