Job Purpose
CAD Designers are a crucial part of any design team. They bring all the ideas of the team to life in a digital world. From there actual physical prototypes can be manufactured. CAD Designer, use computer-aided design software (PTC-Creo), to create three-dimensional models for our current portfolio of products (gearboxes and drivetrain components for Off-Highway application).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Activity Area 1: New concept design
Contribute to prepare, implement, and document new 3d concept design of powershift transmission powered by combustion and/or electrical engine. The activity will be supported by other teams like New Product Development team.
Activity area 2: Design Changes through an Engineering Work Order
Be able to work independently on these tasks:
1. Understand and execute independently the tasks described in the Engineering Work Order
2. Identify any possible gap in the request to improve the end result
3. Work out technical solutions through application experience to improve design for manufacturing and assembly
4. Include all technical aspects following Design Standards and Internal processes
5. Understand the importance of the PLM and carefully follow up the workflow
Activity area 3: Complexity Reduction
Participate in activities and workshops within the team to increase product margin and reliability.
Activity area 4: Provide technical support
Provide support to internal (sometimes external) stakeholders, fast and correct to support their problems and questions in order to solve them quickly and completely.
Activity area 5: Continuous improvement
6. Participate in improvement initiatives in order to secure the efficiency, speed and quality of the different team activities and communications
7. Create documentation to facilitate knowledge reuse for future projects
8. Assist definition of safety features
9. Pursue continuous (self) learning
10. Continuous improvement of the quality processes
11. Support the growth of level of correlation between various sources of information (which can sometimes be incomplete, less organized, contradicting, …)
12. Assist in the idea generation to generate intellectual property
