Your new role
As Application Software Engineer, you will contribute to the modernization of the company’s application ecosystem. The role combines software development and application support, offering a broad technical scope and direct impact on business processes.Your responsibilities include:
1. Designing and developing modern, robust, and scalable web applications, with a strong focus on back‑end development
2. Ensuring intuitive front‑end interactions in collaboration with the team
3. Contributing to the application roadmap, managing feature deployments from testing to post‑implementation follow‑up
4. Integrating and optimizing SQL and NoSQL databases and APIs
5. Participating in functional and technical design phases and making technology recommendations
6. Performing corrective and evolutionary maintenance on existing applications
7. Providing application support and serving as a point of contact for users
8. Acting as back‑up for the Digital Delivery Manager when required
9. Training end‑users and producing technical and functional documentation
10. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Ecosystems & Reporting
Your profile
You have 3 to 5 years of experience in software development and feel comfortable working in a role that blends development and support. You are analytical, structured, curious, and hands‑on.Your strengths include:
11. Proven experience in back‑end development, including strong skills in Java and JavaScript
12. Experience with at least one modern front‑end framework, such as React, Angular, or Vue
13. Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, APIs, and cloud or DevOps environments such as CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes
14. Experience in application support, or willingness to take on support responsibilities alongside development
15. Awareness of best practices in security, performance, and code quality
16. Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
17. Proficiency in English combined with French OR Dutch
18. Curiosity, autonomy, ownership, and a strong drive for continuous learning
