About the Role
We are seeking a driven, mid-level .NET Developer to join our client's dynamic development team on a freelance basis for a 24-month project in Melle. You'll play a pivotal role in maintaining and evolving a suite of critical web applications and microservices, directly impacting the digital backbone of a leading organization. What You'll Be Doing
Maintain, support, and adapt web applications and microservices, ensuring high availability and performance
Contribute to the functional and technical design of solutions, translating business needs into concrete, scalable architectures
Develop, test (including unit tests), and document new features and enhancements using .NET Core, C#, and related technologies
Implement and support federated authentication (OAuth 2.0) and secure API integrations
Work with Azure services, including API Management, App Services, Data Factory, and Service Fabric
Collaborate closely with team members, product owners, and stakeholders to break down features, estimate workloads, and plan releases
Ensure adherence to best practices, internal IT standards, and change/release management processes
Actively share knowledge and support colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Communicate effectively with service desk, project managers, infrastructure teams, and leadership
Support incident response and maintenance activities, occasionally outside standard office hours for releases
Technical Skills
Minimum 3 years' experience developing .NET-based applications (including .NET Core and .NET 8+)
Strong experience with C# and Entity Framework (ORM)
Proven experience with CQRS patterns (at least 1 year)
Hands-on expertise in Azure development: API Management, App Services, Data Factory, Service Fabric
Experience with REST and SOAP web services
Federated authentication using OAuth 2.0
Solid knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL, etc.)
Front-end development with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Angular 2+
Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
Unit testing and documentation best practices
Language Proficiency
Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is required
Other Requirements
Demonstrated experience working in Agile development environments
Familiarity with ITIL-based process-driven organizations (incident, change, and release management)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ownership mindset: proactive, responsible, and eager to learn
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Full-time freelance commitment for the duration of the project (24 months, with possible extension)
Remote work is possible, with on-site presence as determined by the team lead; flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work during releases
