Program Manager Generative AI (GenAI) You are the inspiring leader behind the development of R&D projects that make the transformative power of GenAI more accessible to Belgian companies from the technology sector. With your team of experts, you play an important role for the industry to help them apply this fascinating technology in their products and processes as a competitive advantage.
Your role Based on technology scouting, you identify potential for GenAI innovation in the market.
In collaboration with the Business Unit Manager and internal experts, you translate the market needs into strategic visions and a project portfolio. Subsequently, you draft convincing business cases for the submission of concrete R&D projects.
You play an important role in setting up and developing partnerships, anchoring Sirris' interests and providing technical input.
You are line manager for an autonomous team of Project Managers/Senior AI Experts. This team will grow substantially over the next two years (up to around 15 team members). You recruit new talent and encourage the development of knowledge and skills of your team members.
You oversee ongoing R&D projects in various stages of development with a total budget of around EUR 1 million on an annual basis. This includes resource planning, complex stakeholder management, escalation support and P&L management.
At (inter)national events, network meetings or meetings with (potential) customers or partners, you are Sirris’ ambassador for the GenAI program.
To develop expertise in the sector and to firmly position Sirris' work in GenAI, you encourage the team to speak at conferences, publish articles and develop educational initiatives.
Who are you? 12+ years' experience in Program/Project Management in a business & IT environment.
A relevant Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science or similar background.
Well-rounded leader of knowledge workers in a complex, project-based environment.
Strong and passionate in connecting people, ideas and visions.
Strategic do-er, conceptual and analytical, with business acumen.
Experience with subsidized projects (at regional/Belgian/European level) is a plus.
Knowledge of P&L accounts and HR processes.
A clear, persuasive communication style, both internally and externally.
You are able to travel regularly in Belgium to visit clients and partners.
Fluent English, and fluent Dutch or French with sufficient knowledge of the other national language, is an important advantage.
