R&D background in the field of Battery Materials? I am currently supporting a global industrial manufacturer in the specialty chemicals sector in the recruitment of an R&D Engineer specialising in battery pack applications for electric vehicles.
This is a strategic, permanent role within an established R&D organisation, working on next-generation material solutions for EV battery systems.
This position offers the opportunity to become a recognised internal and external expert in battery pack materials and to contribute directly to innovation for major automotive clients.
Monitor market trends and technological advancements in battery pack design (cell pads, holding pads, insulation materials, thermal management components…).
Translate customer needs and battery system requirements into clear R&D objectives and development roadmaps.
Bring a hands-on mindset to application trials and industrialisation activities, ensuring concepts can be successfully transferred to production.
Work closely with the chemical R&D team to develop and adapt polyurethane and non-PU material formulations for battery applications.
Support and advise on chemical and physical testing, while helping to create new testing methodologies where needed.
Lead R&D projects according to internal project management frameworks, ensuring on-time delivery and technical excellence.
Proven experience with battery pack applications for electric vehicles (materials, integration, safety, insulation, thermal management, or similar).
A Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.
Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a welcomed asset.
