This permanent position is a senior finance leadership role within a large international, matrix-driven and regulated environment. The selected professional will play a key role in securing accounting reliability, statutory compliance, Group reporting quality, internal controls and team performance.
To qualify for this opportunity, your profile must include 3 key assets:
professional fluency in Dutch, French and English
strong technical accounting expertise in Belgian GAAP and IFRS / Group reporting standards;
proven experience leading accounting teams in complex international environments, ideally within activities above EUR 1bn turnover.

Head of Accounting & Reporting, Belgium (M/W)
Direct report to the company CFO
Direct report to the local CFO, working in close cooperation with Finance teams, IT, Operations, Procurement, external auditors and Group stakeholders.
Acting as a senior accounting leader and key partner to the CFO, your main responsibilities will include:
Lead the Accounting, Tax and Reporting team: including local team members and activities coordinated with a shared service center.
Ensure reliable local statutory accounting and Group reporting for the Belgian perimeter, including Belgian GAAP, IFRS / Group reporting bridges and timely closing processes.
Supervise tax-related accounting activities, including VAT, corporate income tax support, regulatory reporting and sector-specific indirect tax matters.
Oversee high-volume accounting flows, including supplier balances, purchase-to-pay processes, accruals, inventory / stock-related accounting and periodic billing flows.
Coordinate interactions with external auditors, tax authorities, internal control stakeholders and specialist accounting or tax advisors.
Strengthen process discipline, documentation, internal controls and continuous improvement practices, including SOX or equivalent control frameworks.
Develop team effectiveness through clear priorities, coaching, planning, collaboration and operational discipline.
In this key accounting role, ✅you will act as a real business partner to the CFO by ensuring the reliability, compliance and quality of all accounting and tax-related matters for both local and Group standards.

✈️ Business mobility: limited Belgium, occasional within the Benelux / / Group interactions if required

☑️ Your key skills & profile
Profile hard skills
Recognized professional in Accounting, Tax and Reporting within an international group or complex multi-entity organization, with turnover above 1b€
Strong mastery of Belgian GAAP and solid experience with IFRS / Group reporting standards.
SAP FI/CO key-user level or strong ERP exposure; SAP MM / stock movement accounting exposure is a strong plus.
At least 15 years of relevant accounting experience, including senior responsibility in a large-scale organization
University degree, Master’s degree or equivalent accounting / finance education; qualified accountant background is a plus.
Profile soft skills
Professional fluency in Dutch, French and English.
Proven team management experience, with the ability to support, structure and develop accounting teams.
Strong analytical mindset, high reliability, rigorous organization and strong respect for deadlines.
Clear communication style, cooperation mindset and ability to work with internal teams and external partners.
Integrity, accountability and strong ownership of financial data quality.
