You will also be considered if you have previously worked in similar positions at consulting firms, company representations in Brussels, industry associations, or sector federations.
* Knowledge: A solid understanding of the mechanisms and processes of European legislation. Attendance at one of the College of Europe campuses or relevant undergraduate or graduate training is an advantage.
* Networking: Excellent interpersonal skills and a good understanding of the Brussels community.
* Education: A degree in Economics or Law. Training in digital technologies will also be considered, although it is not a prerequisite.
* Languages: English: High level, written and spoken (C1/C2).
* A “plus”: Italian, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, or any other additional language.
* Soft skills: Speed of execution, proactivity, operational flexibility, resourcefulness, a proactive spirit, and the ability to work in a highly qualified and specialized environment with strict deadlines.
* The selection process includes a written test assessing specific job related competencies and skills, and English language proficiency.
* Absolute confidentiality is guaranteed throughout the selection process and beyond.
* We are an organization that respects the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Main Duties

* Legislative and policy monitoring: Actively monitor European Union legislative initiatives, consultations and policies of interest to the firm's clients, in particular those related to competition, European funds and regulated sectors. Prepare detailed summaries and briefings on policy and legislative developments relevant to the firm's partners and clients.
* Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on specific policy issues, stakeholders, and policy scenarios to inform Business Advocacy strategies. Analyse the potential impact of legislative proposals on sectors and client interests.
* Institutional Relations Support: Assist in mapping and developing relationships with European Commission officials, members of the European Parliament, member state representatives, trade associations and other key stakeholders. Participate in institutional meetings, events and conferences, taking notes and providing support. Collaborate in the drafting of position papers, memos and presentations for the European institutions.
* Internal and External Communication: Collaborate with legal teams to integrate the public affairs perspective into client service. Contribute to the drafting of content for external communications (e.g. newsletters, updates for customers) related to advocacy activities.
* Project Management: Support the management and coordination of specific "Business Advocacy" projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines and objectives.
