We are looking for a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise environment supporting critical systems for a state agency.
You will be responsible for the stability, performance, and evolution of Linux-based infrastructure and enterprise storage systems, operating in a highly secure and high-availability environment.
This is a hands-on technical role combining Linux system administration, storage management, troubleshooting, and datacenter operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Linux Infrastructure Management
* Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments (RHEL 7/8/9)
* Support zLinux / Linux on IBM environments (LinuxONE) when applicable
* Perform system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
* Troubleshoot complex OS-level and infrastructure issues in production
Storage & SAN Operations
* Manage enterprise storage systems (IBM FlashSystem 9500 or equivalent)
* Configure and maintain SAN environments (Brocade switches, zoning, fabric management)
* Perform LUN provisioning, disk allocation, volume extensions
* Ensure optimal storage performance, redundancy, and availability
* Support connectivity models (A-B-C paths) between servers and storage systems
* Participate in storage capacity planning and optimization
Infrastructure & Datacenter Operations
* Maintain hardware in primary and disaster recovery datacenters
* Collaborate on infrastructure design and new configuration implementations
* Ensure high availability and resilience of critical systems
* Support virtualization environments (KVM / VMware)
Required Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 4+ years of experience as Linux System Administrator / Engineer
* Strong expertise in RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
* Solid understanding of enterprise storage and SAN environments
* Experience with system troubleshooting in production environments
* Basic networking knowledge (LAN / WAN fundamentals)
* Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Icinga, CheckMK, etc.)
* Strong communication skills in English (French or Dutch is a plus)
* Security-oriented mindset
Nice to Have
* Experience with IBM FlashSystem / IBM storage environments
* Knowledge of zLinux / LinuxONE
* Experience with Ansible, automation, Red Hat Satellite
* Exposure to ITIL environments and large-scale enterprise operations
* Certifications such as RHCSA / RHCE
