Legal entity controller
Robert Half is looking for a Legal Entity Accountant/Controller (m/f/x) to join a dynamic and globally focused organization based in Tessenderlo.
This role is a critical part of the European Accounting & Internal Controls Team, focusing on providing accounting support to various legal entities across the region.
Your responsibilities:
* Support the financial close process in compliance with both US GAAP and local GAAP standards;
* Ensure completeness of balance sheets and profit & loss statements, accurate journal entry postings, and preparation of monthly trial balance reviews and quarterly reporting;
* Provide assistance to Shared Services for ad-hoc activities and follow up on intercompany reconciliations, ensuring timely settlement of transactions;
* Prepare and monitor monthly SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative Expenses) reports and resolve variances for EU accounting entities;
* Maintain statutory compliance, including VAT, CIT, Intrastat, and financial statement audits while working closely with tax and legal departments;
* Oversee treasury accounting and controls, including reconciliation of intercompany accounts and transit items;
* Build and maintain effective communication lines with internal stakeholders, such as FP&A, HR, Tax, and Treasury, as well as external stakeholders, including auditors and shared service providers;
* Contribute to ad-hoc accounting projects and initiatives for European entities, consistently improving and streamlining processes.
As a Legal Entity Controller, you meet the following requirements:
* You hold a higher education degree in Accounting or Finance;
* You have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to US GAAP and local GAAP reporting requirements;
* You have treasury experience, advantageous;
* You have hands-on experience with SAP or similar financial systems;
* You are proactive and communicate effectively in English and Dutch—fluency in another European language (e.g., French, Italian or German) is a plus;
* You demonstrate exemplary planning, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks efficiently;
