About the Site
The Nivelles site (approx. 120–150 employees) operates within a complex international industrial ecosystem, combining:
* A strong local manufacturing footprint
* A matrix organization with global stakeholders (notably US headquarters)
* High expectations in terms of safety, quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance
Your Role & Impact
This is more than a plant management role — it is a key leadership position within the organization.
Reporting to the Senior Director Plant Operations (US-based), you will act as the overall leader of the Nivelles site, driving:
* Operational performance and excellence
* Cross-functional alignment in a matrix environment
* Engagement, cohesion, and culture across the site
You will combine:
* Direct leadership (operational teams, ~3–5 managers)
* Indirect influence across functions not under your direct authority
Success in this role requires the ability to influence, align, and drive performance beyond formal authority.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Operations
* Lead the full scope of plant operations: production, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, and logistics
* Ensure delivery of products on time, at cost, and at the highest quality standards
* Build and sustain a strong safety-first culture
* Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and local regulations
Strategic & Business Leadership
* Define and implement operational strategies aligned with global objectives
* Own and manage the site budget and investment plans
* Monitor performance and drive data-driven decision-making
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
* Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
* Promote a strong Gemba mindset (hands-on, field-oriented leadership)
* Identify and implement sustainable process improvements
Leadership & Culture
* Act as a unifying site leader, beyond functional silos
* Foster collaboration, engagement, and a shared vision across teams
* Maintain strong and constructive social relations (unions, works council)
International Collaboration
* Operate in a highly international environment, interacting regularly with global stakeholders
* Communicate effectively across cultures and functions
Your Profile
* Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
* Minimum 7–10 years of experience, including senior leadership roles in manufacturing / plant operations / supply chain
* Proven experience in Lean / continuous improvement (Six Sigma is a plus)
* Strong experience in matrix environments with cross-functional influence
* Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and align stakeholders internationally
* Experience with industrial relations (unions, works councils)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Hands-on, pragmatic, and results-oriented leadership style
* Fluent in French and English (mandatory)
* Ability to travel occasionally (<10%)
