Job description
You will join our team supporting a major client in Belgium, taking the design lead for one or part of a large marine infrastructure project. As principal engineer, you will coordinate and coach junior engineers and CAD designers, liaise between design teams across our clients centres, and enhance an integrated design process by looking transversally over the different disciplines involved, taking the project from concept design through to completion.
Your Missions:
* Take the design lead for marine infrastructure projects, ensuring technical excellence from concept to completion.
* Coordinate and coach junior engineers and CAD designers within the project team.
* Liaise between design teams across our client's centres to foster an integrated design process.
* Communicate constructively with clients and external partners regarding technical design matters.
* Dimension marine infrastructure projects according to Belgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice, and internal guidelines.
* Prepare designs (preliminary, basis, tender, detailed) for marine structures such as port & waterways development studies, port master planning, locks, quay walls, jetties, bridge foundations, flooding areas, dikes, and breakwaters.
* Follow up on evolutions in construction methods to optimize design, with openness to innovative and alternative solutions.
* Monitor progress, quality, and performance of the project executed by your team.
* Assist the tender manager in establishing attractive and innovative offers.
* Report to your team manager.
Your Profile:
* Experience with SCIA Engineer, DSheet Piling, Ansys, or Plaxis.
* On-site experience in marine infrastructure projects.
* Experience in coordinating and coaching engineering teams.
* Experience in preparing designs for marine structures.
* Dutch and English fluent.
* You demonstrate strong communication skills.
* You thrive in multicultural, international, and demanding environments.
* You are structured, organized, and possess a collaborative and innovative mindset.
