Your responsibilities as a Patent Engineer?
* You will advise innovative companies and are directly involved in all aspects of protecting their innovation (intellectual property (IP) strategy, protection, active management, defense, valuation, etc.)
* You will work in close contact with your colleagues within Gevers to provide clients with our 360° Gevers service
* You defend the client's interests before the Belgian and European Patent Office as well as before other foreign offices
* You will also defend the clients' interests before national and international courts, in collaboration with our mandated lawyers
* You become responsible for the patent cases and clients you deal with in your technical field
* You will receive personalized mentoring, structured support and training towards qualification as a European Patent Attorney.

What makes you fit the profile of a Patent Engineer at Gevers?
* You have a PhD in Bioscience Engineering with a focus on cell and gene biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology
* You are eager to learn and want to work with a wide variety of topics, including biotech innovations in agriculture and food
* You have a good fundamental understanding of your technical specialty and you're able to translate your theoretical knowledge into practical projects
* You are fluent in Dutch and English, written and oral
* You are responsible and have an eye for detail
* You are flexible and able to work with tight deadlines
* You are motivated and have a positive attitude, with an open mind to develop business
* You want to integrate in a high-performing team of patent professionals who combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative, supportive mindset.
