About the role
We are looking for an experienced
Project Engineer
for a
6–12 month
freelance assignment in
the area of South Gent
. You will support engineering projects within a
food production environment
, with a strong focus on
hands-on problem solving
, supplier management, and the practical execution of civil, mechanical, and electrical works. Work includes
CIP-related processes
, troubleshooting, and coordinating multidisciplinary project activities.
AutoCAD is the core engineering tool for this role.
Responsibilities
* Assess technical situations and design effective engineering solutions
* Manage suppliers, timelines, and project budgets
* Coordinate and engineer civil, mechanical, and electrical project scopes (and some camera systems)
* Prepare working permits and ensure safety compliance
* Troubleshoot issues on-site and determine optimal supplier solutions
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Project Engineer in industrial or food production environments
* Strong background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering
* Proficient in
AutoCAD
* Experience with food processing systems;
CIP knowledge is a strong plus
* Hands-on mindset, able to work autonomously in a dynamic setting
