About Global Counsel
Global Counsel (GC) is a strategic advisory business. We help companies and investors across a wide range of sectors to anticipate the ways in which politics, regulation and public policy making create both risk and opportunity—and to develop and implement strategies to meet these challenges. Our team has experience in politics and policy making in national governments and international institutions, backed with deep regional and local knowledge.
Our global team operates across Berlin, Brussels, Doha, London, Paris, Singapore and Washington DC and is supported by a network of policy makers, businesses and advisers.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced advisor to support our Financial Services practice with EU institutional relations and client-facing work. It will focus on political, policy and regulatory issues at both the EU and member state levels.
The successful candidate will have direct policy making experience in the EU institutions or a member state representation as well as an appetite for developing knowledge and skills in a fast-paced working environment. The role will be based in our Brussels office working as part of an integrated practice with colleagues in Berlin, Paris and London as well as other key markets.

* Work with clients to plan and script evidence-based narratives with key stakeholders, including where creative responses to new policy proposals are needed.
* Support design and deliver workshops, events and thought leadership for GC and for clients on specific policy areas (e.g. investment in Europe, access to finance, evolution of financial markets business models etc).
* Produce original written content, including policy papers, published blogs, progress reports and marketing material.
