We are currently looking for a Senior Finance Controller to support one of our clients in the financial services sector.
Mission Context
Within the IT organization, the Senior IT Finance Controller plays a key role in ensuring financial visibility, cost control, and coordination between IT and Finance departments.
The IT department operates as a shared services hub, supporting multiple entities within the group as well as external partners. As a result, IT financial management involves cross-entity cost allocations, multiple stakeholders, and complex cost structures related to technology services, infrastructure, software, and external vendors.
The objective of this role is to ensure financial transparency, accurate forecasting, and disciplined cost management of IT activities, while acting as a bridge between technical teams and finance stakeholders.
In the short term, the role focuses on ensuring operational continuity of IT financial controlling activities. In the longer term, the mission will contribute to improving financial processes, governance, and cost transparency within the IT organization.
Function Description
Financial Planning & Forecasting
* Prepare and maintain financial forecasts for IT activities throughout the year.
* Contribute to periodic forecasting cycles and support the preparation of the annual IT budget.
* Anticipate future costs based on contracts, operational needs, and ongoing commitments.
* Analyze variances between forecasts, budgets, and actual costs, identifying key drivers and risks.
Financial Monitoring & Cost Control
* Ensure visibility and tracking of all IT-related financial commitments.
* Monitor operational and project-related IT costs, ensuring alignment with budget objectives.
* Analyze the financial performance of IT services and activities.
* Support the classification and allocation of costs across different IT services and cost centers.
Purchase Orders & Commitments Management
* Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) related to IT activities.
* Ensure proper documentation and traceability of financial commitments.
* Maintain visibility between committed costs and invoiced costs.
* Verify alignment between contractual commitments and financial records.
* Support improvements in purchasing discipline, governance, and documentation standards.
Language Requirements
* French: Fluent
* English: Fluent
* Dutch: Knowledge is a plus
Education
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Management
Experience
* Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Finance or Financial Controlling
Technical Skills
Mandatory
* Strong experience in financial controlling, financial analysis, or financial management
* Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cost monitoring
* Contract management experience
* Good understanding of accounting principles
* Advanced Excel skills
* Experience with financial reporting and accounting processes
Nice to Have
* Exposure to ISO 9001 processes or governance frameworks
* Experience working within an IT or technology-driven environment
