Key Responsibilities Analyse, document, and refine functional requirements for a core safety-critical application, including a new wizard-style interface designed to guide operational users. Model existing and future-state safety procedures and translate them into structured digital workflows. Work closely with developers to ensure functional specifications are fully and accurately implemented. Design and execute test scenarios for both new features and regression testing. Gather business requirements using interviews, workshops, documentation analysis, and process mapping. Produce clear user stories, functional specifications, and user-facing documentation. Collaborate with operational teams, safety experts, and technical squads in an Agile/Scrum environment. Support end-users, ensuring the application effectively enables correct and safe execution of operational processes.
Ideal Candidate 10–15 years of experience as a Functional Analyst in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Strong experience with requirements gathering, process modelling (UML, BPMN), and writing detailed user stories. Demonstrated ability to design and execute test cases and validation scenarios. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with operational teams, technical teams, and management levels. Able to quickly understand highly specific safety or infrastructure-related processes. Proactive, rigorous, and capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively within a mature product team.
Desirable Experience in safety-critical or infrastructure environments (e.g., rail, utilities, transport). Familiarity with railway operations or signalling is highly valued, but not essential. Previous work in long-running Agile product teams or environments with high operational impact. Ability to produce clear documentation (work instructions, user guides, functional designs).
