What are your responsibilities?
You will join our Group Legal and Compliance Team and will be based in our head office in Hooglede-Gits (Belgium). You are responsible for providing full legal support to the business on a broad range of legal matters for the territory of Europe:
* You provide accurate, relevant and timely legal support and advice to the business and to management on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business, our people and our products.
* You ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, considering and assessing possible risks, and you stay up to date with changes in legislation, particularly in relation to laws and regulations that directly affect the business or industry.
* You draft, review and negotiate various types of agreements .
* You assist the legal entities in Europe in legal disputes.
* You manage external lawyers to obtain legal opinions or to handle claims and litigation.
* You deal with warranty and IP infringement claims and execute procedures for protecting patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.
* You develop and deliver legal training to the business.
* You maintain the Enterprise Legal Management System.
* You report to the General Counsel.
Who are we looking for?
* You have a Master’s degree in Law, combined with 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably as a lawyer and an in-house legal counsel in an industrial sector.
* You have a strong business sense, with a passion for compliance and risk management.
* You have a solution-oriented approach, aiming for results while staying customer-focused.
* You like working on (strategic) legal projects together with the Group Legal and Compliance Team and other stakeholders.
* You are well-organized, able to set priorities, work autonomously and take responsibility.
* You speak Dutch fluently and have a good knowledge of English and French. Other languages are considered a plus.
* You are willing to travel.
