Mission As a Legal Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding Optimy's legal and contractual integrity while enabling efficient business operations. You will act as the central legal advisor to our Sales and Account Management teams, focusing on contract negotiation and compliance in a SaaS environment. You will also take ownership of the legal oversight of supplier engagements, ensuring that contractual terms and risk management practices remain aligned with our evolving operational and legal obligations. You will report directly to the CFO, while enjoying a high degree of autonomy in your day-to-day work. You will also mentor and manage a legal intern, supporting their development and relying on them to assist with document preparation, legal research, and contract administration. Beyond transactional support, you'll contribute to internal policy development and compliance training, helping teams across Optimy stay informed and compliant, with a specific focus on Privacy. Responsibilities Client Contract Management & Negotiation Serve as the first line of legal support for Sales and Account Management teams. Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts with prospective and existing customers, particularly SaaS agreements. Provide guidance on contractual matters such as subscription licensing, SLAs, limitations of liability, indemnities, and governing law. Draft and manage legal documentation including MSAs, DPAs, addendums, renewal terms, and termination notices. Address and resolve disputes related to contractual non-compliance or early termination. Maintain an up-to-date contract lifecycle record in the CRM and related legal repositories. Supplier Contract Management & Legal Oversight Review and negotiate supplier agreements to ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations. Monitor supplier contracts over time, proactively initiating service or legal reviews ahead of renewals or upon material changes. Identify and flag potential legal risks related to supplier performance, licensing terms, data protection, or regulatory exposure. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Finance, IT, Security) to ensure supplier agreements meet operational and risk expectations. Update internal policies and workflows to reflect evolving supplier obligations or legal standards. Legal Compliance & Risk Management Ensure Optimy’s ongoing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, with a focus on data privacy (e.g., GDPR), accessibility, and emerging AI legislation. Maintain and update the company’s data processing registry and provide legal input on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs). Advise on legal inquiries from clients and other stakeholders, particularly regarding SaaS-specific legal topics. Conduct continuous legal watch to track changes in relevant legislation and assess operational impacts. Policy Development & Legal Training Support the creation and refinement of internal legal and compliance policies. Deliver legal & compliance onboarding sessions or targeted training for client-facing and operational teams. Increase legal literacy across the company regarding contractual responsibilities, data privacy, and compliance risks. Legal Records & Knowledge Management Maintain a centralized and well-organized database of executed contracts, legal templates, and supplier agreements. Ensure version control and accessibility of legal documents for audit-readiness and operational clarity. Continuously update Optimy’s CRM with legal milestones, contract expirations, and key obligations. About You A Master’s degree in Law with a specialization in Contract Law or International Business Law. 4 years of in-house legal experience, ideally in a European or international SaaS or tech-driven environment. Strong knowledge of contract law, with hands-on experience negotiating both client and supplier agreements. Practical, working understanding of GDPR and other data protection regulations. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal terms to non-legal colleagues. Fluent in English and French ; fluency in German is a strong plus. Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance legal risk with business priorities. Comfortable working cross-functionally and internationally in a fast-moving, digital-first company.
