Key Responsibilities
Directly handle sales of ECTVD's programming in Asia (including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South East Asia, Japan, Korea and India), both at pre production and post production stages, through all linear and non linear TV distribution deals (Free, Pay, TVOD, SVOD and AVOD)
Maintain and enhance ECTVD's relationships with key content buyers, commissioners, production partners, platforms and local representatives in the region
Initiate and execute relevant local sales strategies so as to meet ECTVD's territory and regional APAC objectives
Work in conjunction with marketing and PR teams to support impactful title campaigns and brand partnership opportunities
Develop and pursue multiple windowing strategies to optimize licensing revenues for scripted and non scripted television content
Conduct tailored pitch presentations of ECTVD content to a range of clients and stakeholders
Together with the content team, review a range of producer related materials and provide strategic recommendations from an Asia perspective
Provide regular input to the finance team to support budget reviews, reforecasts and ad hoc projection requests
Liaise closely among ECTVD's regional offices and divisions (sales, marketing, production, finance and legal) to ensure collaborative and high value results
Proactively explore and source suitable opportunities for new content partnerships, acquisitions, co productions and format opportunities across the region
Regularly meet and update management on local market trends, sales initiatives, leads and results
Work closely with the APAC regional and global content teams to build and strengthen ECTVD's brand and content portfolio
Travel domestically and internationally as and when required
Requirements
A minimum 10 years of demonstrated achievement in television content distribution, handling sales of both scripted and non scripted content
Strong business acumen, together with proven sales negotiation skills to close high value and impactful deals having regard to a variety of producer entities
Comprehensive knowledge of Asia's television media landscape, including traditional broadcasters and OTT platforms
Ability to strategise and realise multiple licensing scenarios having regard to local, regional and global opportunities
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin)
Highly numerate and computer literate, with proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
Motivated, collaborative and flexible team player with the ability to work across international offices and multiple time zones
Deep product understanding with a genuine passion for premium entertainment content
Wide network of client and industry contacts
Educated to Bachelor or post graduate degree level
