We are looking for a Bachelor's or Master's student for an internship in ICANN's Global Stakeholder Engagement Team to gain hands-on experience in Internet governance, stakeholder outreach, and policy research across Europe and beyond. Based in Brussels, Belgium - at the heart of the European policy landscape - this internship provides a monthly allowance and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the global Internet through meaningful stakeholder engagement, policy research, and high-impact outreach initiatives. The ideal duration of the internship is 6 month.
This position supports ICANN’s team responsible for Engagement of European stakeholders in outreach, communication, and research. This includes supporting the preparation and delivery of interactions with the European Business organizations, chamber of commerce, Internet sector businesses association, national and regional Internet events and conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research Business stakeholders’ association in the Internet sector and Chamber of Commerce at the national and regional level
2. Support the preparation of ICANN outreach campaigns and ICANN positions on relevant policies and programs
3. Research organizations, civil society, business leaders and others as relevant in diverse geographies as potential ICANN stakeholders
4. Support ICANN GSE Team members with activity planning and logistics
5. Research on major local and regional Internet business events, support applications for panels, speakers and other forms of ICANN outreach
6. Perform ad hoc research on diverse topics relevant to ICANN’s stakeholder relations and policy and technical issues in Europe
7. Other duties as assigned or requested
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
8. Strong, concise written and verbal communication skills
9. Organizational skills for tracking projects and progress
10. Attention to detail and collaboration skills
11. Social Media proficiency, knowledge of the major platform and outreach campaigns
12. Ability to gather, organize and present data from diverse sources
13. Interest in Internet economy, innovation and or Internet technologies
14. Cross-cultural communications, international, or multilingual experience
15. Proficiency with PowerPoint and slide deck software
Education and Experience Requirements
16. The successful intern must be enrolled in University for at least one year in one of the relevant fields described above (Political Sciences, Internet Governance, European Studies, etc.)
17. Experience with or knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel; Internet-based research and documentation; social media platforms and tools
18. This internship does not require any prior experience
19. Languages: English is required, other EU languages are prefered
