This role sits at the intersection of public policy, communications, and stakeholder engagement, and is critical in positioning the organisation as a credible, trusted voice with policymakers, regulators, and industry bodies across Europe. /p pThe successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the European policy environment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical topics into clear, compelling narratives for a range of audiences. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and deliver a European policy communications strategy aligned with business and regulatory priorities /li liTranslate complex policy and regulatory developments into clear, accessible messaging for internal and external audiences including on data sovereignty, cloud regulation, AI policy, and AI infrastructure. /li liPartner closely with Government Affairs, Legal, Business teams, and senior leadership to ensure consistent positioning on key issues /li liBuild and maintain strong relationships with journalists, think tanks, trade associations, and industry bodies across Europe /li liLead the creation of high‑quality content including briefings, position papers, op‑eds, speeches, and consultation responses /li liSupport executive communications and engagement, including preparation for high‑profile policy forums and events /li liLead communications on sensitive regulatory and sovereignty issues, including reactive and crisis scenarios /li liMonitor and analyse the European policy landscape, identifying risks, opportunities, and emerging trends /li liDefine and maintain consistent European narrative across PR and executive communications /li liProvide strategic counsel to senior stakeholders on policy communications, and reputational matters /li liManage external agencies and partners where required /li /ul h3Skills Experience /h3 ul li7–12 years’ experience in policy communications, public affairs, or corporate communications /li liStrong understanding of European policymaking and regulatory environments (EU institutions and/or key national markets) /li liProven ability to develop and execute communications strategies in complex, fast‑moving environments /li liExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical or regulatory topics /li liExperience working with and advising senior executives and leadership teams /li liDemonstrated ability to build credibility with external stakeholders across multiple European markets /li liFluency in English plus at least one additional European language is essential (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian, etc.) /li liExperience in technology, infrastructure, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred /li /ul h3Personal Attributes /h3 ul liStrategic, thoughtful, and highly organised /li liConfident communicator with strong stakeholder presence /li liProactive and solutions‑oriented /li liComfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving environment /li liHigh level of judgement and discretion /li /ul pAt Nscale, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace.
