Job Description :
As a Project Engineer Utilities, the consultant is responsible for executing projects from the design phase through to the final delivery of the utilities (basic & detailed design, process automation, procurement, construction, start-up, and validation).
The main focus is on process and process automation : system functionality, required safety measures, reliability, business continuity, by preparing the necessary P&IDs and functional descriptions.
The utilities delivered to the production process are mainly black utilities (heating water, cooling water, glycol, city water, steam, …), with possibly also clean utilities (direct impact compressed air, clean steam, water for injection, nitrogen).
Utilities can involve generation, storage, and distribution, e.g., compressors, heat pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, pump skids, and piping systems.
Role Responsibilities:
From the very start of the project, you ensure a clear description of the installation in consultation with internal stakeholders (maintenance, production, QA, EHS, …).
You translate customer expectations into specifications and defend customer interests with suppliers
You perform the required risk analyses and ensure proper documentation.
You coordinate and supervise the installation and carry out verification/validation tests.
You are able to create a detailed planning aligned with the overall project or operational schedule, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of projects.
You can also independently lead projects, manage a (multidisciplinary) project team, and follow up with an external engineering firm. You ensure a clear division of tasks within the team and follow the project management system.
You bring the required technical knowledge and propose innovative ideas for continuous improvement.
Requirements :
~ Completed a higher technical education (Industrial, Civil, or Bio-Engineer).
~ Strong communicator with the right level of assertiveness.
~ Able to multitask and set priorities.
~ Works independently and enjoys working in a team environment.
~ Capable of leading and motivating a project team.
~ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach.
~ Hands-on mindset and eager to perform tests.
~ Skilled in writing clear and comprehensive documentation.
~ Holds a VOL-VCA certification.
~3 years of experience in project/process engineering with piping and automation.
~ Able to perform pressure drop calculations and pump selections.
~ Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is an asset.
~ Knowledge of refrigeration techniques and heat pumps is an asset.
~ Knowledge of GMP, Six Sigma methodology, and risk management tools such as FMEA is an asset.
