Automation Engineer SME– GMP Manufacturing
Location: Belgium (Hybrid)
We are supporting a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation in their search for multiple Automation Engineers to join a growing automation function supporting manufacturing sites across Belgium.
Positions available:
• PCS7 System Engineer
• AVEVA System Platform (Facilities) Engineer
• PCS7 + AVEVA Alarm Engineer
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering automation expertise across GMP manufacturing environments, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency across the full project lifecycle.
You will work cross-functionally with Production, Quality (QA & Qualification), and IT teams to support compliant, secure, and scalable automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and lead automation workshops across project disciplines
• Develop, maintain, and improve automation software and documentation
• Manage and coordinate system integrators and external vendors
• Review and verify technical deliverables, ensuring quality and cost control
• Ensure full GMP and HSE compliance across all activities
• Support operator training, system handover, and operational readiness
Project Environment
• Large-scale PCS7 environments across multiple manufacturing sites (new installations, upgrades, and process optimisation)
• AVEVA System Platform projects focused on infrastructure expansion, utilities, and new facility integration
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in GMP process automation
• Strong expertise in PCS7 and/or AVEVA System Platform
• Experience across design, execution, and validation within regulated environments
• Be able to speak in French and English
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, project-driven environments
