Internship Position
We’re seeking a motivated intern in mechanical engineering to join our Flight Systems Division and contribute to a cutting-edge space exploration initiative. The internship focuses on supporting a study that investigates how the mass of electrical harnesses affects the fundamental frequency of onboard units and the reaction loads at attachment points.
* Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)
* Duration: A minimum of 3 months
* Start date: At the earliest.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Design and model structural components using SolidWorks for aerospace applications
* Build and analyse structural Finite Element Models (FEM) of the RIU unit, integrating harness mass effects
* Optimise and iterate structural configurations to simulate various harness layouts and assess their impact
* Perform calculations—both manual and FEM-based—to determine bolt reaction forces and validate structural integrity.
Skills and Experience
* Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
* SolidWorks knowledge is an asset
* Strength to self-disciplined and work ethic
* Passionate with a problem-solving approach
* Good written and spoken English.
