Consulting Staff Position – Competition Economics – Brussels
We are currently looking for a Senior Associate or Consultant to join our Economics Practice in Brussels. We require a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability and a desire to advance within BRG.

Responsibilities
Your work will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature.
Responsibilities include data cleaning, designing and implementing statistical and econometric analyses, performing rigorous quality control checks, developing and delivering client‑ready materials, and conducting in‑depth industry and market research.
Reviewing relevant case‑specific literature
Conducting literature and case law reviews to draw conclusions for case work
Carrying out and leading data cleanup and preparation
Conducting economic and econometric analyses
Presenting findings through data visualisation and drafting of client reports
Developing project management skills, communicating results and work product as appropriate
Supporting and supervising interns or more junior staff
Participating in internal and external business development projects such as contributing to opinion pieces, conferences and workshops
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas
Hold an advanced degree (M.A., M.Sc., or Ph.D.) in Economics or related fields from a leading university
Desire to work in economic consultancy – we would actively consider applications from trainees at the European Commission etc.
Interest in competition economics and a good knowledge of theoretical and/or empirical microeconomics and industrial organisation
Enjoy conceptual issues and working with data
Proficiency in Excel and statistical software/programming languages (e.g., R, Stata or Python) and desire to expand those skills further and train others
Draft and communicate effectively in English and German; knowledge of other languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian, Polish) is an asset
Committed to producing high‑quality analysis and paying close attention to detail
Positive can‑do attitude and willing to proactively engage with colleagues
