We are currently looking for an IFRS Financial Controller for a leading bank in Belgium.
About the Job
As a Financial Controller IFRS, you will have the opportunity to strengthen first-level controls by working closely with teams in Financial Accounting, Solvency & Liquidity, Tax, and Performance Management.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Control Execution: Perform second-level financial controls, review certificates, and provide clear reports to management, auditors, and stakeholders.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with teams in Financial Accounting, Solvency & Liquidity, Tax, and Performance Management to strengthen first-level controls.
* Risk & Reporting: Compile quarterly findings into a Control Book, summarizing residual risks, materiality, and remediation plans for executive review.
* Process Optimization: Conduct ad hoc controls, update procedures, and propose innovative solutions to streamline control processes.
* Audit Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external audit teams, managing follow-up on recommendations.
Requirements
We are expecting candidates with:
* Language Skills: Fluency in French and English, basic knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
* Experience: At least 2 years in financial control, with an advantage for experience in banking.
* Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of IFRS standards, financial risk assessment, and controls.
* Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, clear communication, attention to detail, and team-oriented approach.
