Job description
Mission:
Are you a passionate Bioinformatician with solid experience in data analysis pipelines and R programming? Do you want to contribute to cutting-edge projects in the life sciences or pharmaceutical sector, using data to drive innovation and medical progress?
Amaris Consulting is looking for a Junior to Middle Bioinformatician to join a high-performing team working on advanced bioinformatics solutions. This is a unique opportunity to grow your expertise in a supportive, international environment — with the flexibility of long-term remote work in Belgium after an initial on-site onboarding period.
You’ll play a key role in understanding, maintaining, and improving bioinformatics pipelines, supporting research and development with robust, scalable data analysis.
-----------------------------------
Your Key Responsibilities
* Understand, document, and support existing bioinformatics data analysis pipelines.
* Perform statistical analysis and data visualization using R and related packages (ggplot2, dplyr, etc.).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (biologists, data scientists, IT) to translate biological questions into analytical workflows.
* Contribute to the development and optimization of analysis scripts and reproducible workflows.
* Ensure data quality, integrity, and traceability in line with project requirements.
* Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and technical documentation.
* Work in a hybrid setup: on-site at the beginning for training and integration, then primarily remote within Belgium.
-----------------------------------
What You Bring
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
* 4 to 6 years of experience in a bioinformatics or data analysis role (or equivalent experience for strong Junior candidates).
* Solid proficiency in R programming for data analysis and visualization.
* Experience working with or understanding bioinformatics pipelines (e.g., NGS, RNA-seq, variant calling, etc.).
* Familiarity with version control (Git), command-line environments, and data formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF, etc.) is a plus.
* Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
* Fluent in English – both written and spoken (required for collaboration and documentation).
* Based in Belgium and available for initial on-site training (full relocation support if applicable).
-----------------------------------
Why Join Amaris Consulting?
* Work on meaningful projects at the intersection of biology, data, and technology.
* Enjoy excellent work-life balance with a hybrid/remote-first model after onboarding.
* Grow your skills with access to cutting-edge tools, training, and expert communities.
* Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and supportive global network of consultants.
* Competitive compensation and personalized career development path.
