Software Technical Lead Embedded Systems – ALTEN Belgium
The Position
As part of our ongoing growth, ALTEN Belgium is looking for a Software Technical Lead (Embedded Systems) to join our teams and work on client projects located in Charleroi.
Responsibilities
Leading and organizing a team of 11 embedded software engineers with oversight of an additional team in Bangalore.
Day‑to‑day follow‑up, planning, and progress tracking for the RBC (Radio Block Center) embedded software team.
Supporting engineers of all seniority levels (junior to expert).
Acting as the interface with program management (reporting, risks, QCD commitments).
Participating in Change Control Boards (CCB) and design reviews.
Ensuring compliance with railway safety standards (EN 50716 / SIL 4 process & quality).
Your Profile
Master’s degree or Engineering degree (BAC+5) in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecom, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in embedded software development (mandatory).
Proven experience in team leadership (leading diverse, multicultural teams).
Strong background in C for embedded systems (real‑time, safety‑critical environments).
Familiarity with V‑Cycle, SIL 4 processes, and quality requirements.
Fluent in English (mandatory for team meetings and international coordination).
French is a plus (for local stakeholder interactions).
Experience in safety‑critical industries (railway or equivalent) is highly valued.
Autonomous, structured, and proactive mindset with strong communication skills.
