What to expect
In this role you will be responsible for managing and building out Swift’s Whistleblowing and Investigations function. As part of the Global Compliance team, your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading investigations into a variety of compliance topics.
2. Manage Swift’s whistleblowing portal, databases and related operations.
3. Interviewing witnesses and researching reports of alleged wrongdoing.
4. Engaging with external advisors and stakeholders across Swift.
5. Managing and evolving Swift’s whistleblowing & investigation policies and processes in line with best practice and industry standards.
6. Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations and best practices relevant to Swift.
7. Gain in-depth understanding of Swift’s internal policies and code of conduct.
8. Drafting investigation reports.
9. Recommend actions and mitigations to management.
10. Raising awareness for whistleblowing and ethical business standards.
11. Reporting on whistleblowing metrics and investigation outcomes.
What will make you successful?
We are seeking professionals with:
12. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in law or similar
13. 7-10 years of experience in legal or compliance profession (with 3-5 years experience in investigations)
14. Open mind and objectivity: remain unbiased and fact-focused, even under pressure
15. Attention to detail: ability to spot inconsistencies, errors or red flags in complex data or documents
16. High moral and ethical standards: an unwavering commitment to honesty, fairness and confidentiality
17. Professional scepticism: willingness to question information and challenge assumptions
18. Resistance to influence: ability to stand firm against pressure from stakeholders or management
19. Clear writing: ability to document findings, write reports and explain complex issues in simple terms
20. Active listening: skill in conducting interviews, asking the right questions, and interpreting verbal/non-verbal cues
21. Diplomacy: communicating sensitive or negative findings tactfully and professionally
22. Understanding of laws and regulations in the areas of whistleblowing, investigations, fraud, harassment, sanctions, data protection
23. Interviewing techniques: skill in conducting effective, non-confrontational interviews
24. Empathy: ability to build rapport and encourage openness and interviewees
25. Discretion: maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care
26. Time management: juggling multiple cases, deadlines and priorities efficiently
27. Record keeping: meticulous documentation and organisation of evidences and case files
28. Continuous learning and training to capture global compliance and industry trends
29. Lead by example – exhibit ethical business conduct
