About the role
The Sales Manager is responsible for profitably growing the Sweet Specialities portfolio in Benelux. The role reports to the VP Sales Lead - Global Sweet Specialities.
The main focus is to grow with existing customers and acquire new ones across all market segments, using the appropriate Route-to-Market (direct or indirect).
The key metrics include volume delivery, customer base penetration, financial objectives (e.g., margin), and customer satisfaction (NPS).
Focus, resilience, change management, project management, influence management (internally and externally), hunting spirit, and creativity are essential drivers of growth.
This role offers a great opportunity to be part of a team supporting one of Barry Callebaut’s strategic growth initiatives.
Key responsibilities include :
* Leading cross-functional commercial initiatives.
* Growing the Sweet Specialties portfolio by working with other Barry Callebaut commercial teams and indirect channels to deliver end-to-end solutions.
* Engaging colleagues across functions, managing projects, and owning complex situations.
* Becoming a deep expert in the Sweet Specialty portfolio, products, and applications, including chocolate specialties.
* Supporting operational customer-related topics to ensure high-quality, timely responses to customer needs.
* Developing and executing a profitable growth strategy for your scope/territory through market mapping.
* Identifying, engaging, and winning new customers via direct and indirect routes.
* Growing share and new applications at existing customers through cross- and upselling.
* Managing and executing contract negotiations with the account team for existing and new projects.
* Using Salesforce.com to drive growth and streamline customer information sharing.
About you
* At least 6-8 years of proven commercial experience in a B2B environment with value-in-use or technical offerings.
* Industry experience in the chocolate or sweet specialties market, with a strong network and customer intimacy.
* Market, consumer, customer, and retail insights, with B2C experience being a plus.
* Proven success in profitable growth across various customer types and channels.
* Key Account Management skills, engaging diverse stakeholders to build strong relationships.
* Strong knowledge of the Sweet Specialties portfolio and applications.
* Master's degree in Economics, Business, Food Engineering, or equivalent.
* Full professional proficiency in English; Dutch and French are native or capable of handling complex negotiations.
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and solution-selling skills.
* Strong project and change management skills.
* Familiarity with Salesforce.com for driving growth and customer intimacy.
* Willingness to travel over 60% of the time across your territory and related Barry Callebaut sites.
